Elaine Carr is a visual artist and educator born in Scotland and living in Windsor, Ontario. Carr works with issues of land, water, space and memory. She holds a Master of Arts Degree with distinction from Holy Names College, Oakland, California, a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from the University of Windsor, a Bachelor of Arts (History) and Education degrees from Western University. Most recently her work has been exhibited at the Sivarulrasa Gallery, The Agnes Jamieson Gallery, SB Contemporary Art, group shows at the John B. Aird Gallery, Gallery Lambton, Grimsby Art Gallery and the Glenhyrst Gallery. Ms. Carr has also completed many community and collaborative public art projects including “Freedom and Justice” in collaboration with Lionel Davis, Robben Island, South Africa. Commissions include sculpture to commemorate the Montreal Massacre at Brescia College, Western University, London and "Teach Me" a sculpture marking the history of the foundation of the Windsor Essex Catholic District School Board. She is a founding member of the Womanspirit and WWOIT Collectives. Her work is found in both public and private collections in Canada and the United States, Scotland and Norway and Australia.
